Your Motor Accident?
What ho one and all,
I have been browsing the threads and have a similar wacky motor claim thing going on.
The background: parked at the end of a very, very quiet cul do sac and was working in the garden. when I came to the car, a neighbour told me that she had seen a lady inspecting the front of my car a couple of times. Since a few people do come down this road and have to do a U-turn, I figured that someone had nudged me. But no, no damage that I can see whatsoever.
X months later, I receive a phone call asking if I have settled the claim relating to 'your motor accident.' Further questioning always gives the same answers; they know my reg number, obviously my phone number, the location of 'my accident' and the date (I have no idea of the date!)
Six months later, I am still receiving the phone calls and now, I just hang up. Probably, I am being scammed but I don't know what they want.
However, if someone has made a claim on their insurance and I have not reported this 'accident' to my insurance, is it likely to affect my premium at renewal? I do wonder about telling my insurance company, but that seems like rocking the boat when I had no damage, and that may also impact on my renewal premium.
Opinions gratefully taken on board.
Thanks and toodle pip

Simple answer to this one.....
Have you had an accident?0 -
I may be thick but I don't understand. Is that an answer or a question?
If a question, the answer is NO!0 -
it's 99.9% a scam...
...unless someone else can vouch for the last 0.1%..........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple

I'm pretty sure it is too, but someone seems to know where I was parked on the day of the 'accident.'
It just seems too much of a coincidence that a scammer comes down a really, really quiet cul de sac and decides to have a go.
I am quite happy to go with the flow to see where it goes, but don't know how to progress when I next receive the phone call. If I say I don't remember the accident, they hang up.0 -
If there is no damage to your car and you haven’t been in an accident then just ignore the calls

I am but I have this slight concern regarding my insurance renewal. But in all likelihood, my insurance company has no idea.
Thanks for the advice
