Zanussi Dishwasher stuck on drain?

I've got a Zanussi built in dishwasher. Model number ZD122001XA. It seems to be stuck on a drain cycle. We put the machine on one evening and came down in the morning to find it was still going. Opened the door and the machine didn't turn off. Seems to be the drain cycle. If you pour water into the machine it sucks it straight away but it keeps on going. Does anyone know if this is this something that can be fixed without an engineer?

It could be the anti-flood device. The base is like a plastic bowl, if there is a leak it fills up with water then a float switch turns on the pump. Nothing else will work. Disconnect from the power, empty the machine & pull it out. Lay it down on one side over a towel & water should come out of the base. Put it back & it should run, but it will probably happen again, in a few days, a few weeks, a few months, who knows when! Trying to find where the leak is on a dishwasher is a pain in the ****.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

We have a Zanussi dishwasher (different model) and have had this a couple of times and had to pay £70 odd for someone to fix it. If it happens again will be considering whether it might be more cost effective to buy a better one.0

Who did you get to repair it? I contacted serviceforce because I foolishly thought that after 13 months it would still be under warranty. They're going to change me £88 just for a callout plus parts on top0

If it's the anti-flood device you need to get the water out of the bottom before it will turn off. If you Google it, somebody has probably put instructions for your model or a similar one. As it's built in, rather than tipping the water out you may find it easier to use something slim but absorbent (tea-towels etc) to carefully mop up the water from the base. You need to work out why it flooded as well though, or it'll just happen again. In our case, it was a Weetabix related incident so just a clean needed, but a proper leak would need fixing.0

Looks like it was the anti flood thing. Seems to be working again now. Hopefully it stays working. Thanks all0
