After reading several threads about credit card companies vastly reducing credit card limits, i'm wondering if this is still happening, or if all the action has currently been taken by credit card companies at present? I have a Barclaycard that has a £4700 limit and only has £200 spent on it at the moment. Is there still a possibility of them reducing my limit? The account has been opened for about 6 years now, and always been ran well. The reason i'm asking is that i'm going away next week on business and would need to use the card (then pay off when work refunds the money). I've tried ringing Barclaycard to ask, but customer services didn't really offer much help.

To be honest, I've gone the other way, my &More limit doubled from 2k to 4k, and my Tesco card has had another £800 put on the limit. Madness!...I like my coffee black, just like my metal!

They cant reduce a limit below the spending on the card
Unfortunatly they cant and wont tell you of any planned reviews to prevent people spending just to stop the reduction0
