Withdrawl cashback on credit card?

I have just received my £20 cashback for spending abroad on the Halifax Clarity credit card. I have no intentions of using the card for spending, so how can I get hold of this £20? I have looked on the account and there doesn't appear to be any options to withdrawl.

Is it just as simple as withdrawing from a cash machine? It just feels wrong to be doing so on a credit card so wanted to check first.

Contact them and ask for it to be transferred to your bank account, or simply spend it in your normal course of shopping in the UK.

It's normally a bad idea to withdraw cash on a credit card with the associated fees and charges but in the case of Clarity that should be fine too.
  • Stick £20 of petrol in.

    One purchase. Sorted. Not hard.

Given that Halifax does not charge a cash advance fee, you can withdraw your positive balance from an ATM with no adverse consequences.
