Wii Wii Wii all the way home!

Options
Hi

We have just got a wii and my kids have been playing on it non-stop!! have to say I hate these things normally but even I have been on this. it works for our 3 year old as well as the teens and adults.
Just thought I'd post in case anyone was looking afor inspiration for xmas.

The top games so far seem to Boogie-which is a great party game for the whole family-karaoke and dancing-got to be a hit, especially when the wine starts flowing!

Now the kids are all clamouring for My Sims, which is a game where you develop your own town and characters and run their lives. apparently it looks 'totally mint!' :D

I don't think many people need inspiration to get a Wii for Christmas as they are already sold out everywhere, except for the sharks on ebay of course. I suspect it will be this year's must have item.

I managed to order one from Amazon this week in the 20 minutes or so they had stock.

I managed to get a bundle on tesco yesterday. Now wondering what else ill need to buy to go with it. What is a nunchuck? and do i need one?
I know ill need to buy another wand/stick whatever but do i need to buy a charger for them? am totally clueless about them so any advice would help me before xmas. thanks. xx
Just to win anything would be great!!
  • A nunchuck is an addition to the Wiimote. So imagine you hold the Wiimote in your right hand.. its a little thing that clips in and u hold it in ur left hand and it has a toggle stick:

Some games require it, some don't. Its not essential so hey. Wii Boxing for example you need it but thast the only game on Wii Sport that does.

  • As for chargers.. They take standard AA batteries. You can get accessories and chargers as extras but you dont require them. Batteries last quite a while anyway!

P.S the back of the game will say whether it requires a nunchuck

Thanks that clearer now, havent read the argos catologue properly. was looking at a docking station, so it just needs batteries. thats good, was beginning to think the price of all extras was gonna spiral out of control. the baton thingy is really expensive, £30.!! never mind, cant just have one.

    thanks.

  • I'd advise you to look on ebay for things like accessories :)

    Anyway enjoy!

If you're looking for another Wii remote, look at the Wii play bundle, list price is £35 but you get more mini games (similar type of thing to Wii Sports) and the remote. The remote on it's own is £30. Also I think you may as well get another nunchuck then you've got two of each for any games that may need them.

  • Hi everyone...i need some WII help!!
Just bought one yesterday for the kids for xmas and was wondering if someone could tell me if it is a simple case of 'plug+play' or will i be needing extra leads-ive seen something about an HDTV cable-now im panicking incase we get stuck on christmas morning with not enough leads!!! It will be put onto my parents tv which is a brand new 42inch plasma screen so im assuming this will be HDTV?sorry to sound stupid but i thought it smarter to ask someone on here who has one than struggle myself and disappoint the girls!!
    thanks for your help!
PS my package came from toysrus at £249.99 with 6 games....does it come with one of the nunchucks in the box or is this another extra!? I cant get the chance to open the box at the moment as my 3 are always attached to me,they seem to sence something good is happening, lol.

    love and relax!

  • Hmm check your receipt.. I'd assume extras would be on that :) (Or on the box, not in it)...

Chances are nunchucks wont come with it.

With a default standard wii you get the console and 1 wiimote meaning most people will buy another wiimote and 2 nunchucks. Also remember no batteries are included with teh console. Each wiimote takes 2 standard AA Batteries and they last for ages :)
