asbestos lino risk?

Hello all,
I just wanted some advice whether I should be concerned. I moved into my home 2 years ago and recently we have decided to convert our cellar into a room. We got a quote for some lino and the guy came round to comment on the logistics of bringing the lino downstairs. On the visit he said that we should take the old lino up beforehand. Naively I have started to do exactly that this evening; most of the lino came up easily as it’s just a big sheet however when it came to the edges they were stuck down and I found them harder to remove. I then googled if there was a solution to this and found lots of posts about asbestos and am now worrying whether the glue could contain asbestos? I am unsure how old the lino is- I have some pictures on my phone but I haven’t worked out how to post yet - can anybody advise?
Iniially I presume somebody who worked in the industry wouldn’t advise me to do something with such a risk having seen it themselves but I don’t want to rely on this assumption. I see a lot of posts commenting on tiles so am not sure whether this also applies to large sheeted lino too.
Thank you

Bitumen adheasive I presume? It could contain a small percentage of asbestos (typically white). Its not really much of a hazard as the fibres cannot easily escape from the matrix.
If you are concerned pop a P3 mask on while removing it.YNWA
