Purchasing from a USA website- dangerous!

I purchased goods from “lightinthebox” with a trading address in USA, that did not match the description when delivered. The company agreed to refund the goods and to pay return postage on receipt of the goods into their Polish warehouse.
The delivery cost was a whopping £87!
Despite them agreeing in writing on their ticket system that they will refund the return delivery, they are now refusing to do so.
PayPal will not get involved because the return delivery, unlike the goods purchase price, was paid outside of PayPal (Royal Mail).
Anyone had a similar experience?

Paypal will not fund or help with return postage costs. It's not clear from your post if the "whopping £87" was for the returns or the delivery. If it was the delivery, you are due the full amount you paid (item plus delivery) as a refund. If it was the return, then Paypal will not refund you.

You could try to retrospectively ask Paypal under their "returns on us" programme - google it - but that is for £15 only.

I am of course assuming you opened a case for SNAD and this was dealt with via Paypal.

They didn't buy it in the UK so they have only the rights they can fight for in the country that covers this contract. I assume since the trading address was the USA then that is where you need to go to make complaints.

If you want proper rights then buy from the UK.

Why is it costing £87 to send something to Poland? Is that using their own returns service or did you shop around?
