Can no longer return to Nationwide (FlexDirect) to get 5%

This is probably going to be old news to many here but it was new news to me today and just in case there's 1 other person here who may get caught out i'll post this anyway.
My mother went to change her FlexDirect to a FlexAccount over the phone today as the 5% rate had ended with intentions to change it back in 12 months time if the 5% still existed then.
She only keeps a bit in it anyway & her main account is with Lloyds gaining more than the 1% the FlexDirect is now offering.
The chap on the phone said that he could do that (change it) but that if she had plans to return to it in the future then they have recently changed their T&Cs which stop this. I can't remember which way it went now, it was either if you return you wont get the 5% or you wont get any % at all, not even the 1%.
So since she wanted it active she just left it open as 1% is better than 0%.

I thought it would've been but didn't see it on page 1 & tbh if anyone goes searching for whether it's been posted then they already knew about it

That makes no sense.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »I thought it would've been but didn't see it on page 1 & tbh if anyone goes searching for whether it's been posted then they already knew about it
Why don't you just say 'I couldn't be bothered to look further than page 1?
(PS I may have been guilty of this myself...:))0 -
What bit?Kernel_Sanders wrote: »That makes no sense.
So if Joe Bloggs comes on and goes searching (down the threads & pages), looking to find whether Nationwide have changed their T&Cs regarding this then he must surely have at least been given a clue that there's been a change.
Would you check daily that it's still xx-mph outside your home? No it was yesterday so you just think it will be today until you hear otherwise.
It depends. If i'm asking a question i may branch to page 2, 3 at a push but that's rare. I'll just ask the question. Sure you'll get some uppity people saying THAT QUESTION HAS BEEN ASKED BEFORE, HOW DARE YOU ASK IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! But i've killed nobody's mother or cat or hamster so really what harm is it doing? For those who don't like it nobody puts a gun to their head & makes them open it, makes them read it, makes them reply to it.Why don't you just say 'I couldn't be bothered to look further than page 1?

But if i'm just posting information, like this, i wont bother moving beyond page 1.
Pretty much for the same reason as before - it's doing no harm. There's plenty of duplicates, triplicates and so on on this whole message board, another one wont harm. 0
