Victim of Scam: BOTMEDIAZ.COM

My wife has been paying $50 a month for the last 6 months off her credit card to BOTMEDIAZ.COM. She has no idea what for and never signed up for this, has anyone come across this company before? They are refusing to refund her money.

Any suggestions?

Raise a chargeback via the card company if genuinely believe it is an unauthorised charge.

The website "www.botmediaz.com" is a fraudulent one. The website which claims it will deliver all your favorite movies, music, and games across all your favorite platforms, is similar to the fraudulent websites: https://www.geeker.com, lilplay.com and tzarmedia.com. Online users who have used their credit cards on the fraudulent website, run the risk of their cards being fraudulently charged for undetermined amounts, even when they have cancelled their subscriptions.

This plus many more warnings are all over google. Did your wife sign up for a months 'free' trial?
  • I hope you are refunded, and also hope wife learns lesson and checks statements regularly from now on.

Costly mistake maybe but could have been far worse.

No recollection of signing up to anything.

    Thanks
  • Chargeback only goes back 120 days for this dispute type. If the merchant shows your wife saw and agreed to a recurring payment then it would fail.

However if they do not then you will win, all the best.

You don't have to sign up to anything online.
She must have agreed to either a free sample or a trial membership to something.
The ''free'' sample asks for a bank card either to pay for postage or verification purposes - how else would they have had her card details?
