Try these and you won't be disappointed - http://amzn.to/2z8fUzC

I have used 6 of them in the previous house and they are great.

    Good luck.

And yeah, make sure you choose the colour white (warm or cool) depending on the room you fit it in.

Only 1 year warranty, no indication of CRI. I'd pass.

    High quality bulbs here:

I've also used some (non-GU10) bulbs from https://www.ledhut.co.uk which aren't too bad.

Only 1 year warranty - may be. But the ones you suggest are 6 to 10 times more expensive.

LED bulbs unlike the filament bulbs are very reliable so the warranty needn't really be taken seriously especially at that price.

  • You get what you pay for. I imagine these cheap LED bulbs have a relatively high failure rate. It’s a bit of a false economy if they die just outside their 1 year warranty.

If you’re going to take a chance on a cheaper bulb I’d be looking for a minimum 3 year warranty to make sure it’s a worthwhile investment.

And as I said, no mention of CRI in the specs which makes me suspect it’s not great. This makes a big difference to the quality of the light given.

You certainly don’t get what you pay for that’s the sort of gumf “Brands” use on the gullible…The warranties in respect of investment is interesting e.g. £10-20 for 5 year warranty they replace the lamp(sometimes) or £1 for one that last the 5 years but they don,t replace it.... :rotfl:

From the industry perspective its standards regulations set too provide a platform for consistent definitions, test methods, laboratory accreditation, product design, consistent manufacturing and testing etc Reality bingo bongo land testing accreditation etc…..

Unfortunately there really isn’t a short cut or great money saving way out there its down to old fashioned trail and error with a small % of research and luck…..

The one I am using is £1 from Home Bargain.
I won't really care about paying extra for the warranty. Who know if these online shop from amazon are still exist 5 years down the line.

Recommend buying well known brand such as Philips from retailer where you can take any failures back and ones with 3 year warranty. Screwfix is a good place to look.
  • Poundland . . . seriously.
