What kind of house is this?

Will try my best to describe this, basically there are 4 houses, the side and back of each house is attached. Like 4 squares arranged to create a larger square.
I think although they are pretty much the same like terraced housing they aren't in a row along 1 street. Also they have large front and side gardens whereas terraced housing has tiny or no front gardens.
I'm inclined to say semi-detached as that is what it looks like from the front view.

Semi detached means that it's only attached to one other. These are attached to two others, so I'd say they're terraced, albeit in a slightly more unusual arrangement. Terraced housing varies wildly so you can't just say that 'terraced housing has tiny or no front gardens'. They may do in some inner city locations, but we live in an end terrace in a small town and we have large front gardens0 -

A lot of these were built in the 1980s and usually described as a quadplex or corner house.
Less desirable than a proper terraced house. The main issue id the front ones only get a front garden so not much privacy and while the rear ones get a back garden, it has to remain less private as people have to enter that to get to your "front" door0 -
My parents lived in a house which was the end one of a row of four.
They said it was called a "quasi-semi"."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I was thinking maisonettes...but then these would be flats attached together in the way the OP has described and not houses.SPC7 ~ Member#390 ~ £432.45 declared :j

Not semi detached. Semi detached only has one wall joining another property. Shouldn't be bought as semi detached and shouldn't be sold as semi detached. So if you are either looking to buy one or sell one the value will be less than that of a similar sized semi detached in the same area.0

My daughter lives in a block like this and all four houses only have a front garden, agreed it's at the back of the whole property but it's still their front garden. It's nothing , not nothink.0 -
