What type of boiler do I have?

Hi,

Don't know if anyone can help? I recently bought a house and have been told that the boiler is in the chimney.

I am on a low income and may be entitled to a new boiler free or at a reduced rate from energy companies if my boiler is inefficient.

My question is, if my boiler is in the chimney breast how can I find out what type of boiler it is without paying a fortune for someone to remove the fire and check?

Previous occupier sadly died so I can't ask them.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a gas fired back-boiler.

I'd be surprised if it didn't qualify, it won't be the most efficient.

I doubt you need to know the exact model, If you apply for a new boiler someone will have to come round and check you're entitled, and they'd be able to figure it out.

  • If it’s an old Baxi Bermuda, the panel underneath the radiants flips down, revealing the boiler controls etc.
