How long should it take for the transfer of the deceased's bank funds to the executor(s) account once the bank has received the Grant of Probate and instruction?
What are other people's experiences with this process?

One transfer was within 24 hours. The longest a building society bond about 5 weeks. The bit that seems to take the longest is them working out how much interest to add.0

24 hours is good going. I suppose a lot depends on which bank it is and, ultimately, the enthusiasm of the person dealing with the transfer. One transfer was within 24 hours. We (both executors) spent a couple of hours trawling round all the local banks with the paperwork, all the ones we could do that with were really quite quick. I suspect it was because we didn't get stuck in someones intray!0
