  • G'morning all.

Lovely morning in Glasgow today. Not a cloud in the sky, no wind, yet a crisp coldness. Love it for some reason.

Still playing catch up from my holiday so I made a dent in some of my washing then I played football. Tons of ironing to do tonight which I plan to attack after I've nipped over to see my mum this evening after work.

I've been invited to a leaving do tomorrow. Casual dinner with a group of friends as one disappears back to NZ. It's a cost I could do without but it won't be that expensive and it'll be good to see my pals again.

Have a wonderful day everyone :)

    Morning everyone!
I haven't posted for a few days. First few days back at home in London and back to work after Dad died. Missing being up north but we are moving back to Yorkshire as soon as we've sold our boat up here and got a house sorted there. TravellingAbuela, you mentions of Yorkshire always make me homesick. I love Leeds market.
Had a small victory this week. To cut a long story short, Vodafone promised me £50 cash back in August 2016 as an incentive to renew my contract with them and not go to Ee. I never got it. They then hiked my bill up in August this year. Letters of complaint have got nowhere but I used the Resolver tool in this site and received £95 back from Vodafone yesterday. Hurray! Going to change phone companies now as they don't deserve my custom.
Hope you all have a lovely day and hugs to those going through difficult times. X

    Morning all,

holiday laundry all caught up with and house spick and span. Still haven't been able to clean the stain up on the kitchen floor. Its down to a leaky red bull can apparently. Youngests disgusting work bag has been banished to the conservatory when he gets back on an evening along with his work coat and work boots as they come back on an evening covered in plaster dust and wood shavings.... Bahhh! Even his Dad doesn't come back that messy.

Bin day today, for the first time ever ive got a half empty bin....i'll make up for it next week I'm sure.

Need to launder the bed sheets today and vacuum and turn the new mattress. Not sure why it needs to be turned but it was advised at the shop so will be done whilst there is two of us here to manually turn it.

Grump(less) is out pricing a job today, he's got the start for Monday.

Roast pork and stuffing for tea... although its nice to go away, its nice to get back to a normal routine, whatever that may be.

    Onwards and forwards,

    have a great day all.

    Morning Guys and Gals

Jackie hope all is ok with you hun Im guessing that your absence means you are having to put all your efforts into caring for your family atm hope you are taking care of yourself too :A

Specky can you put that lovely Glaswegian weather on hold for me please I'm up there tomorrow so would be good if it is sunny :D

Bits and pieces to do today including chasing some invoices and writing some new ones. Off to Glasgow for some work stuff tomorrow so need to get some money out for taxis and snacks. Will take a pack up for the train again ..so much nicer than virgin buffet food.

Food today will be somat out of the freezer with some mash left over from last night.

I hate the ads on GBBO too and also watch it a bit behind thanks to Sky planner, particularly hate the Dr Oeuker singing cake which I never seem to be able to skip :D Be interesting to see if they allow Pru on next year after she gave the winner away hours before, I know everyone makes mistakes but thats one heck of a blooper :rotfl:

Right off to get somat done
  • Good morning all,
Feeling a bit flat today. Eldest is getting on my nerves. She's not gone to college today. She restarted 1st year and she needs to get her act together.

Small not back to school until Monday. He hates leaving the house, so that's hard work.

In good news though. Head of year for Middle called me yesterday evening. He has turned things around & is now doing really well. He's year 11 so he needs to.

Teenagers are harder work mentally than babies/toddlers.

Anyway, need to get on with some housework. I could sit here all day. Just wanted last nights Eat Well For Less. Blimey, she spent a lot. I do feel she had some underlying food issues though.

Menu planning does save so much money. This week has been proof of that for me. Even though I already knew that, I had totally fallen out of the habit.

Judi, your daughters children's home is so lovely. And bless her, adopting those children with extra needs. She is an angel. X

The boot won't open on my car either (a touran). My hand mixer won't work. It's new, but can't find the receipt. I also think we need a new boiler. It's all money isn't it...

Right, I'm off to get my house in some order.

    Best wishes all

    X
  • Afternoon all

Chilly here but bright. Nothing much happening here today as we are recovering from having DGS here for 3 days instead of two. He had a good report at he parent teacher conference yesterday and DD is very pleased.

DH may go to Aldee today as we need some dishwasher tablets. not sure what's for tea, may be jacket potatoes and salad. We have had beef casserole for two nights, always good to cook once and eat twice.

Our fence between us and next door who are having their drive finished off is being replaced. The work next door has been going on since August so will be glad when it's all finished. Our fence needed doing and will finish of the front nicely as we had our drive redone a couple of years ago. As well as that DH is having new glasses and wouldn't even tell me what they cost! So a very spendy week. Well, he hasn't had a new pair for four years,

Well hugs to poorlies and those with family worries. Have a good afternoon.

    Hello everyone.
Bit late posting because we decided to go out for the day. The sun was shining and warm when we left, then within an hour it went quickly downhill :(. It's now grey and freezing cold.
As we cut short our trip we called in a Garden centre for a wander round, then ended up in the restaurant for coffee and a cake. It was full of lovely Christmassy things and we
are thinking of changing our tree this year. We have had it nearly 30 years and it's still got some life in it but it is so heavy that now it takes two of us to get it up and down the stairs . Saw some that we liked but the were very expensive, I think we will look in the big stores like As*a, Tes*o etc first, before we make up our minds.
Anyhow not much else to report other than tea will be the last of the leftover chicken with rice and some sort of sauce. Not decided on the sauce yet but it won't take long to whip one up.
JackieO my thoughts are with you and Franks family
Hope everyone has a good evening and hugs all round.
Sorry my font size seems to have changed half way through, no idea how or why.

Good evening ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Late today, I was out early to drop my neighbour at the Drs and then carried on to Aldi. By the time I got home I was exhausted, its taken me all afternoon to recover.

OH spent the morning dittering in the garden, he has dug up the rest of the leeks, I will slice and freeze them, I also have beetroot to cook and pickle.

We have just had our supper, bacon, egg, tomato and fried bread, not what I was going to cook, but too crackered to do anything else.

Csarina i know ypu worry a lot about your DB, but i do worry about your health at times - you seem to be tiring more easily than when in Scotland. When does your cleaner start? And don't do what we do before our fortnightly "lady wot does" comes to us - spend time tidying up! :o:p:)
