Hi
We're purchasing a new kitchen and we need to buy a new hob & oven.
This is will be a top end kitchen so I'm not after the cheapest but I do want good value for money. I love cooking so they will be well used too.
I keep seeing horror stories about a number of brands that I thought were reasonable.
The kitchen company we're using are suggesting hotpoint
So any recommendations? Also anything to avoid ?
Cheers

I've been very happy with Hotpoint/Creda for the last 40 years, but as they are now owned by Indesit which is owned by Whirlpool that won't be much help.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I wouldn't put Hotpoint in a 'top end' kitchen, but I might not want to put Miele in there either; certainly not with my level of culinary skill!
Something from Siemens or Neff would be OK, perhaps, depending on how 'top' the kitchen really is and how much you cook. It's what I have and they're OK.
I was able to get a much larger discount on these appliances by buying through the kitchen company than I would have done from the likes of AO, so put pressure on to get a really good deal, otherwise the kitchen co will just trouser the difference.
Edited to add: My comment doesn't include a washing machine, where I would always go Miele.0 -
A kitchen company recommending Hotpoint cannot possibly be selling top end kitchen. More bottom end to be honest.
Look at Neff/Siemens/Bosch. Reasonably good quality for reasonable prices. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Agree with the others. I'm not sure what is top end about Hotpoint!
We've got Miele going into our new house. I'd have been happy with Neff or Bosch (I love my current oven), I think, but the husband (who doesn't cook) is better at spending big ticket money than I am. We did get a really good deal on really expensive things thoughEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I have recently installed a Neff oven and hob. A bit more expensive than the cheaper versions but in my view worth it.0

Thanks all,
I was looking at Bosch, Neff & AEG but then I'd recently read some people having problems with Neff & AEG which has made me think again.
I do realise every make will always have a few problems
My previous oven was Bosch & I never had any problems. However at the time I wanted Neff but I couldn't get because of supply issues (we are talking 15 years ago)
I've no experience of Miele but I've heard a few people say they're good.
Cheers

We have new AEG appliances (gas hob, integrated oven/microwave, washing machine), no issues thus far.
I guess issues may vary between models best to check customer reviews as well.0 -
I have two Siemens 'eye-level' built-in ovens and a Siemens 6-burner gas hob. They have been in about 18 months and I'm very pleased with them0

We have had a few Neff ovens over the decades in different houses and found them very reliable. We also had an Indesit oven which again was trouble free.
We had a quality kitchen fitted last year and we chose AEG ovens as Neff had supply problems.
We are very satisfied with them.
This is what we bought.
AEG BP831460KM Single Oven
AEG KM8403101M Combo
AEG HG795840NB 5 burner Gas Hob
plus
Luxair LA-70 CVD GL SS Extractor Hood
Rangemaster Oakland Stainless Steel 1& ½ bowl Right Hand Drainer
Brita Torlan 3 way mixer tap Chrome Finish
We kept our existing dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer.0 -
Mother-in-law bought Miele appliances when she moved into her new house. Nearly all of them broke prematurely, even though they received only light use. Apart from the Miele washing machine, of course. That's still going strong. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
