Kaspersky Safe Money not working fully.

https://support.kaspersky.co.uk/12137?cid=KIS_17.0&utm_source=interceptor&utm_medium=product&utm_campaign=KIS_17.0

For some reason it's stopped working fully, and is telling me it can not provide complete protection, as I am now vulnerable to screen shots being taken.
I've ticked the box in my Kaspersky AV showing "block capturing screen shots in protected browser", I've checked that virtualization is still enabled, and no other applications are open when I'm using safe money, but, still, I get the message "the driver for protection against screenshots is disabled"
Any advice will be appreciated. I'm wondering if it could be something to do with the re-install of Windows updates that took place a few days ago?

  • Actually, that's me!, I'm exploring all avenues!
I've noticed that when the re-install of Windows Updates took place on the 28th October, it appears a Kaspersky driver was removed - Kaspersky Lab (System 28/3/2017) 12.0.120.62 (oe...)
To be honest, I haven't a clue what that means, but I can't see what else might be causing the problem, because prior to the update everything seemed to be working fine with the safe money option.
    What do you think?
    Thank you.

Just uninstall it and have done..

AV should just do its job imho - as soon as i start having to interact with it it's uninstall time.

Do you run windows 10 ?

Yes I do, why do you ask please?
It wouldn't be a case of uninstalling it, it would just be a case of not using it. However, I would prefer to use it, as I've always found it a useful and reassuring tool to use, and up to a few days ago it's worked perfectly.

Because Windows 10 comes built in with a perfectly good AV solution
And you have started 2 threads now having issues with different components of Kaspersky

Yes, it would be a case of uninstalling it - Windows defender defaults to inactive if it detects another AV installed
All these bells and whistles are unnecessary - just a bit of common sense needed.

When did you last see a password displayed on a screen ?

Sorry to be pedantic but I thought Kaspersky was supposed to be one of the best, perhaps the best, out there?
And yes, you're right I do seem to be labouring the point regards Kaspersky at present, but it's only at present, I don't go on about them every week. It's only because of issues, that haven't been a problem in the 3/4 years I've used them.
You obviously know a great deal more than me about the technology, but I'm still a little loath to uninstall something I've paid good money for.
And yes when I think about it you talk sense about the screenshots issue. Still, I do think a little paranoia attends many PC users when things are a little awry when using their pc to conduct financial matters.
    Thank you for your advice.
  • Removed and re-installed Kaspersky Internet Security, safe money now working fine.:)

Do you actually need it though? I have windows 10 and use nothing else.

I am with Andy on this one, the AV should do just that, protect you from virus infections, scan files on the PC and incoming files.

Anti-Virus and Firewalls are trying push all sorts of junk onto peoples computers.

An AV should do one job and a FW should do another. The should be small files. I remember AVG being under 10MB for a complete install.

Last time i downloaded AVG it was something like 122MB. It wanted to protect my email, err i was on AOL so that was not needed AOL did not preview emails so the only way to infect your PC was download and run the attachment.

Similar with Tiny Firewall, it was small and did its job. Last time i used Avast i got fed up of the popups.
