Rubbish at selling things - help please!

It's probably more surprising that we don't see more threads like this. It is fairly natural to be wary of selling stuff to strangers or worse still friends or family.
The best advice for anyone selling is to be totally honest and get as many pictures as possible
Unfortunately people can often rip themselves off when buying online (especially in auction). I have items described with their exact measurements and get as many "smaller than expected" feedback comments as I get "larger than expected". One of my more recent negative feedbacks was along the lines of "bought this item in error, it wasn't what I wanted, I wanted a bigger item, so this was way too small and I don't like it". If they'd bothered to contact me I'd have let them return it.
Sadly you have to expect that some people are stupid.
It is worth pointing out that on here the bad gets highlighted and there are millions of transactions a day with absolutely no problems.
That said, thinking of alternative sales channels that will be quicker and with infinitely less hassle is not a bad idea,.0 -
But did you get to keep the 6 grand?
We did. Obviously when we were met by the Law we explained the entire story. They took the money initially as it was suspected as having been used/proceeds of crime.
It was about 8 months or so from memory, before we had it back. I had completely forgotten about it.
The entire saga was actually a bit frightening. There is the realisation in circumstances like this where you may actually NOT be able to convince the authorities you are telling the truth.
My point is, anything can happen when you are selling.0 -

Quite - not sure how that is going to help the OP in this case!!0 -
Another option for the car would be to put it into an auction. Let someone else deal with the transaction although you will not have much control over how much cash you will get.0
