Always uninstall anything to do with McAfee.

McAfee recommend using the standard Windows programme removal tool first.

If this fails then download the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe) from their website.

And at the risk of stating the bl**ding obvious, don't forget to to download (but not install) your replacement a/v before removing McAfee.

I have tried to get rid using the add remove program but all I get is this message. Mcafee ui host has stooped working.A problem caused the program to stop working correctly windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Please where do I go from here.

Assuming you tried McAfee's removal tool give Revo Uninstaller a go as per your original post.

I downloaded a trial version of McAfee Total Protection (same as Live Safe but without the cloud storage) and successfully uninstalled it with Revo - albeit the pro version - set to advanced scan.

There are ways of uninstalling McAfee manually but these involve editing the registry and can c*ck up your machine if you get it wrong.
