Carpenters / Fitters in Kent Area? (For Kitchen & other jobs)

Can anyone recommend Carpenters / Fitters in the Kent area?

I'm looking to have a new Kitchen fitted and I also have other carpentry jobs that need doing including other rooms.

I am considering supply and fit or also perhaps myself purchasing the units and furnishings from somewhere like diy-kitchens dot com

If you've used any good Carpenters / Fitters in the Kent area please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations for the Kent area.

https://www.mybuilder.com or https://www.myhammer.com are your best bets. Advertise your job there and award it to a reputed tradesman unless someone refers a decent tradesman to you.
  • Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Have you used these sites to find trades people?

After reading your suggestion I had a look on here to see what people said on 'MyBuilder', mixed reviews in this thread:

    Thanks again for the info.

Yes, I have found handymen in my area using mybuilder.

It's just another place to find tradesmen, not a silver bullet to solve all the issues related to tradesmen. They verify before listing any one and customer reviews help us make an informed decision - which I think is far better than taking a friend's word for it.

Having said that, tradesmen are tradesmen - when the job gets tricky some have the courtesy to say things up front but some don't and that's when all the problems start. While mybuilder can help you find a tradesman, it is next down to you how you manage him. Also, make sure you award the job through the website so that they are always kept in the loop.

    All the best.

  • Thanks again for the advice and input.
I am still looking, so far I've had a few quotes, but the various outfits have not followed up, which doesn't make you feel confident in hiring them.
