Hi all
I am single person and not looking g for anyone now or in the future but would be nice but not going to just for buying a house. I work full time earning 16104 a year but will rise by another £300 after my appraisal in March.
I am living at home atm trying to save for house deposit I have about 6 k dotted about but I was looking at my payslips the other day and I realised my savings haven’t grown in the last two years I’ve been working. I just spent it all and I am shocked and disappointed in myself I’ve spent my wages and not much to show for it.
I had a look at mortgage estimates of what I could be loaned and would be about 55 to 75k. There’s a house on the market that looks good for me not far from transport to get to work and in a quiet area but also close to my parents. It’s up for 65k but it has reduced from 69k they seller bought it for 62k last year.
I am not sure if the price could go down further which would be great in order for me to pay a deposit. I am aware of extra fees like estate agents a surveys but also the price could go lower depending on survey.
The other places on the market are more than one bedroom which this one is but they are too far from transport links to get to work as I work in a city.
Do you think I should let this one go and just focus on saving up more of a deposit. I am going to check with the bank I have some money in to see how much I have there. But I have also put in £500 into my savings account on pay day.
I have 3k in my current account but I don’t know why but I do get anxious if it’s goes under 2k after I paid credit card.
I pay my card off in full each month so no rolling debt or interest .
Should I just keep putting £500 a month into my savings account
