Want to sell house quickly

Has anybody had experience of these companies who buy houses for cash?

Myself and my partner are looking to sell our individual houses & move in together.

We are unable to move together into either one of our homes due to mine being too small and his being out of the area (issues around daughters school - but that's a whole other story). We were looking at the possibility of extending mine which is proving to be impossible due to planning regs etc. So our option B is to sell mine, buy a larger house using the proceeds of mine & some of the equity from his to fund the difference. Then move into the new house together & then sell his.

We've seen the ideal house to purchase but mine isn't even on the market yet - do these companies prove to be a good idea? I know they aren't ideal but are they a complete 'no go'?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Many thanks

  • If you price your house to sell - but still what you want or need for it - you will get a quick sale through the usual routes e.g. estate agent. The best agents will have buyers lined up and if you are prepared to accept offers even a grand or two below other similar houses, you will get the result you need - and I would wager more than you would get from any of the companies that offer to buy for cash.

Another alternative is to sell at auction but you may not need to do that.

    Good luck!

I agree, if you have your property marketed well you can sell very quickly.
Houses in my street are under offer within a week or two from being listed

  • hhhmmmm good advice guys, thanks - why didn't I think of that!?

I'm thinking ahead a bit too really. Still not 100% decided on the extension issue yet - may go for just adding a dining room & another bedroom - but no en suite
