Advice

Hi

I have a debenhams credit card which i have nearly maxed out. I normally clear it in full each month but over the past two months i've had some unexpected costs which have resulted in my money going to other commitments. So instead of clearing it , i now have to pay it of in a few months;

I want to go onto a 0% Free credit to avoid paying interest but still want to use a credit card but do not really understand the terms etc.
my gross income is £40k+

What are my options ...

Kind Regards

    See if you can get a BT card.
  • Hi

    Thank you for your reply.

    I'm assuming you mean Balance Transfer card?
    I had a look on this website for those using the calculator but then didnt understand the options. For examply - one card - says 0% finance for 30months but then underneath says this is only for purchases or transfer within 6months...

    If someone can please explain...

    Kind Regards

    Once you have a balance transfer card, you have a certain amount of time in which to transfer the balance - in the example you have given, 6 months.

    You will then get up to 30 months at 0% (or whatever) on those balances.
  • Thank you for your reply.

    That makes it easier to understand.

    Can i still make new purchases on the BT card or do i have to get a different type of card?

    You should use a separate card, it you intend on clearing the purchases in full each month. Otherwise, you will be charged interest on them.
