Advice about shop direct ppi

Hi all, so I won a number of my claims for PPI :T

But what do I check for exactly before agreeing to accept the amounts? I've read lot's that say "make sure you check" but what exactly do I check.

Also if the accounts went to debt collectors which they did, then does some clear the balances etc? Will that show up on credit profile

Haven't got my offer letters through yet to see all details but have been told the amounts:)

The redress is the amount you paid, plus 8% statutory interest.

If you think it;s wrong, dispute it. Otherwise accept it.

Anything that is offset will reduce the balance on those accounts.

There's a possibility that money written off when you defaulted, could be deducted from any redress you may receive.

Wait for the letters, see what they say.
  • Thank you both, I don't mind if it clears the balances, it was always more about the principle for me, disabled and self employed (and this was explained to them), it was never gonna cover me!

I will wait for letters then may be back with more questions
