Can you switch current accounts if it's not your main one?

Options
I use the Halifax reward current account purely to get the bonus and have the two direct debits set up and bounce 1k a month through it.

I keep seeing current account bank switching offers. Could I take advantage of them by switching my Halifax account or does it need to be a clearly active main current account with regular transactions on it?

Does anyone know?

No, any current account which meets the criteria of the switch bonus is fine. Many on here create accounts solely for this purpose;)

I have to ask, what gave you the impression that the current account you use most often (your "main" one) had to be the one that was switched?

Perhaps because folk often erroneously think that the £1k monthly payment (or whatever) has to be from salary etc?

There is also a misconception that it has to be paid in one go when £250 a week will suffice. (4 weeks to allow for February).
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.
