Just be careful... its a toll road and the toll has to be paid online or by phone.
We got caught out... Thought it was strange there was no one to collect the toll.

so be careful

The bridge will be paid for in no time, thanks to all the penalty charges being issued for non-payment of tolls.

Rumour has it it's looking to be so lucrative that they're thinking of building another one...

How did you manage to miss the huge blue signs telling you to pay on-line at the Mersey Flow web site, or the huge white signs telling you how much it costs?
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.

You can pay at any shop using payzone. Or if you use it a lot register an account.

"The bridge will be paid for in no time" Yea like the first Mersey tunnel it has only taken since 1934 so far, and we are still paying.

Or the Qe2 bridge between Kent and Essex, still paying despite promises to the contrary.

  • I was charged by the merseyflow company for failing to pay for the crossing fee for going over the new Mersey bridge a short while ago, even though I paid within the allotted time for paying, namely before midnight on the next day after crossing.

I appealed providing the relevant information, arguing that the penalty was wrong, requesting that the penalty be set aside, which was denied. Merseyflow rejected my appeal on the basis it said that my car had crossed the bridge 8 times and I had only paid for 7 crossings. That was also untrue.

I appealed the decision to reject my appeal to the independent appeals tribunal arguing that the decision was wrong. The appeal was upheld and Merseyflow cancelled the charge.

Being unhappy that I was put to expense of appealing a decision which in the first place was wholly wrong, I asked for Merseyflow to pay my costs of the appeal process. Today I was successful in my appeal and Halton MBC, or moreso Merseyflow were ordered to pay my costs in the sum of £60.00 in 14 days.

The moral of the story, never allow an injustice to stand, more so when you have paid what was due. Whilst not a substantial victory, a victory on principle and I thank the adjudicator for seeing sense and ordering Merseyflow to pay costs and cancel the penalty notice, which should not have been issued in the first place. I have a copy of the official adjudicator notice in Cowley -V- Halton MBC (Merseyflow) if anybody wishes to see it.
  • Please see above thread but as Merseyflow not paid any idea on enforcement

Big white signs saying there's a toll and what it is. Big blue sign the size of a car after it telling you to pay by Mersyflow by midnight tomorrow.

If you can't see those you're not fit to hold a license.

Mr loophole reckons we all should get our tolls refunded and anyone fined should be able to get the fines refunded too
