Employer refusing expenses claim because its late
;discussion/5736566]Company has a rule that you've got to submit expenses within 3 months. Which I did. But there have been problems with the system and I checked why it hadn't been paid. For some reason, the claim was back as "un-submitted".
So now system flags that part of the claim is over 3 months old and you have to justify this. Manager can then OK it. So I put reason.
Manager has knocked it back and said its valid but too old. Can they do that? I wouldn't mind but its over £300.
What would next step be?
To directly answer that question.
There is no legal requirement to pay any expenses, it is contractual.
For some expenses minimum wage could come into play but I suspect that won't apply so lets pass over that.
managers discretion seems to be the key here.
You need to understand why you manager won't exercise discretion in your favour.0 -

Oh !!!!!! you really do have no idea of your impact on others do you ?
Every thread you start the issue is always someone else's fault despite you being the common factor.
Maybe https://www.willeveryoneagreewithme.com would be more suited to you ?0 -

"Impact on others" - Why have I upset someone by posting on the forum?
Lets just get a few things straight here:-
1) I asked a perfectly valid question - this thread did not degenerate until the usual "wolfpack" arrived with nothing better to do.
2) Don't take it personally. If you don't like a post or are not interested then just ignore it. No-one is forcing you to read posts. THAT IS HOW THE INTERNET WORK Honestly, if you don;t like what I post or don't like my attitude then just ignore me. Simples. If you are unable to do this without it upsetting you then maybe you a bit of a break from being online.
3) Do you REALLY think I give a rats a*se what a random stranger on an internet forum thinks of my posts? If you have anything constructive to say then yes, but otherwise no.
4) On a related note, do I care what a stranger thinks of my attitude? Even less so I'm afraid. ;-)
p.s. I won't be rude and suggest a website for the wolfpack. ;-)0 -

Not sure why I'm bothering but on the off chance the OP wants to find a solution to the issue then I'll ask again.....gettingtheresometime wrote: »Ok I'll bite.
- When, in relation to the submission of the claim, did you realise there was problems
- When did you realise it hadn't been paid, in relation to the submission
- What does your contract say about expense (as I believe your a contractor rather than an employee)0 -
IT would really help the OP if they answered the questions being asked about the issue rather than getting sucked into irrelevant discusion0
