House Builders Bryant Homes

Ahhhh it has finally taken me 6months to get my org snagging list completed, having had to take 12 work days off which I feel is unreasonable, I have said I want them to compensate me for 7 days as 5 working days should be more than reasonable.

Some of Problems:-
electricity not cabled properly in kitchen
draft in living room (french doors not sealed properly)
leaky shower (3 visits to fix)
leaky radiators (3 different radiators and different times)

plus things like the flooring wasn't completed etc.....

Am I being unreasonable in thinking that 12 work days in 6 months is an unreasonable amount of time to take off? As a good will gesture they have extended my patio (8 patio slabs big wow) and now I have had back that they are willing to pay me loss of earnings on 3 days? Is it worth me fighting to get back more money or do I just take the 3 days and be done with it?

advise appreciated.

Lynda

I had similar problems but, eventually, everything was fixed.

Whether it was true or not I can't say but I still remember with delight the tale of the purchaser who supposedly caught out one of the big companies a few years ago though.

Apparently, their sales pitch was, "5% deposit and we'll pay your first 12 months' mortgage payments for you" in an effort to sell some new houses.

The tale goes that one enterprising purchaser got his bank to agree to a special mortgage over - you guessed it - 12 months. There was nothing the builder could do but pay up and the purchaser got his house for 5% of the asking price. Brilliant!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I am in the house buillding industry, and I would advise the following.

Firstly, make sure you keep a record of all the events.
Secondly, tell them you want a date by which all the snagging will be completed.
Thirdly, stick to your guns on time lost from work. You've lost it and it was their fault. If they refuse, ask for the name and address of the Group Managing Director, and let them know you will have no hesitiation in contacting him AND the local press about their appalling behaviour.

Let me know how you get on.:D
