Morning all
Nice day here and not so cold as yesterday, I have the throws off the sofa and am giving them a good wash they do tend to get mucky as Evie comes in from her walk with muddy paws and jumps all over them !
Yesterday I did a load of Christmas and Birthday Shopping, we have a load of Birthdays in Nov/ Dec too, so I am pleased I have made a good start, I might carry on this afternoon too, My MIL and FIL are quite hard to buy for so last year I got them a canvas bag for life and filled it with luxury food bits that they would not have bought themselves, I got most of it in M & S nice biscuits, chocolates, cheeses, crackers and chutneys etc, they loved it so I think I will get that again this year so will get that nearer the time.
I am stuck on my dd and have no idea what to buy her, its her Birthday at the end of November too ! we are going to Brighton on Saturday to have a look round.
Pork belly strips for dinner tonight will do them in a soy sauce with honey and chilli flakes and anything else I want to chuck in.
Right need to get on and do something, have good days all xx0 -

I shall clean a boat when I get back and do some more crochet.
Have a good day everyone.

Hello all
Just a quick post as I have been busy baking / decorating the house etc ready for the party. I enlisted Mr Fix Its help but it would probably been quicker to do it myself :rotfl:. Still he tried.
My " day of the dead " cakes turned out really well, as did the bloody fingers and the coffin / gravestone cheeses. Only have to bake the sausage rolls and the SF chicken witches hats (cheated and bought those). Everything else is in the fridge ready to go on the table. All the prizes are packed and the ghostly clues hidden, so having a quick cuppa before we get changed. DD has requested that we start at 3pm so that the DGC can go Trick or Treating before the bigger children venture out. So it will be all done and dusted by 6pm and we can put our feet up, even if my dad is still here.
May be back later but sending hugs all round just in case too I'm worn out :rotfl:
HollyH sending you an extra hug.
TA I'm sorry that your arm is still bothering you.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Afternoon all
Well DGS delivered back to his mummy after a day's babysitting along with her shopping. Grampy and I are really tired now.
We have dried all the towels from DD's washing machine failure yesterday. It was safely bailed out and no water leaked into the flat below as DH took down loads of our towels to mop up any water. I washed them all last night and put them out on the line and they were nearly dry by this morning. DD has ordered a washing machine fro C*rry's in their sale to arrive Monday.
Beef casserole for tea that I made yesterday thank goodness. will lserve it with potatoes and cabbage.
Holly Harvey hope you have a better night's sleep tonight.
Am pulling up the drawbridge before dark as we do not tolerate trick or treaters. We haver never celebrated Halloween.
I wish you all a peaceful evening.

Evening all and Happy Halloween
Have a bowl of treats out ready for tonight but to be honest I doubt I will get many little ones calling ...they tend to stick to houses that are decorated round here and I don't do that. I love seeing them all dressed up though they put so much effort into it these days ....it was a bin liner and a cardboard witches hat when I was a kid:D
Went out for lunch with mum today after the usual "same stuff every week " shop at Morrisons. Had a lovely hot beef baguette with onions half of which came home with me it was so big  Mum had a prawn salad with enough prawns to serve 4 so she took a box home too. Good value as we both got 2 meals out of it.
Hope all is well with Jackie
Enjoy your evening0 -
Hi everyone
Busy day today. Got home from work about 5 and have had a steady stream of trick or treaters ever since. I had bought enough for about 30 and that's all gone now, so the hall and outside lights are switched off. They're still knocking but I'm not answering! A lot of neighbours outside lights seem to be off now too.
Hope everyone has a peaceful evening0 -
Hi
Made it through the party in one piece. Everyone's tummy is full and there's still food leftover so that's tomorrow and Thursday sorted. Dad was the last to leave and he went home with a goody bag too. The games were well played and the "unlucky dip" seemed to be the favourite, the DGC screamed when Mr Fix It put his hand in the back of the box and grabbed theirs :rotfl:.
Only had 5 trick or treating, the 4 children from next door and their step brother, it's very quiet on the street now.
Now I'm ready to settle down to watch the GBBO final with a glass of wine and one of my cupcakes. Happy days.
Hope everyone had a good day.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Evening all.
Had a busy day today. Middle had a Cahms appointment. 1st of all had to take Small to my sisters. Appointment went on for ages. Dropped middle to school. Went to Morrisons. Went to my sisters. Had coffee. Took Small to McDonalds. He was excited to go. He then had a meltdown in there. So the staff bagged up our food. He then sat at a table and ate quite happily.
Came home, prepped the pumpkin eldest was supposed to do.
Did dinner.
Gave out sweets to various trick or treaters.
Am now sitting watching the Bake Off Final. Poor Prue. Think before you tweet!
Thinking of JackieO & Dumpling.
Best wishes to everyone
