Windscreen replacement. AVIVA, should I claim or not?

Options
Hi

Wifes corsa 2008 has windscreen crack longer than 40mm and will be an MOT fail. MOT is due imminently, expires in 2 days.

Just curious as to whether I should get her to claim on her insurance and get them to pay for the replacement or if I should just get her to pay for it out of pocket.

I am with admiral and they have a large excess and affect the premiums so I decided to just pay for it myself. Is aviva the same? what is their policy, most importantly do they ask if you had a windscreen claim in the past and do they consider that into the premium?

Comments

  • her excess is £75 for windscreen replacement. But a indepndant fitter can put one in for £135.

This was aboout the same for me with admiral so I just went ahead and got it repaired myself.
