What to do with an old TV?

I asked him if there was any special place to put the TV (there are places for old fridges, batteries, washing machines etc, but nothing for TV's that I could see). He pointed to the crusher and said that was as special a place as I was going to get.

That should have changed/be changing soon, it comes under the WEEE regs (waste electrical and electronic equipment) and will have to be recycled rather than sent to landfill.0 -
We were also looking for a home for a old working t.v.
My Mum is in a nursing home and often sits in the conservatory with a few of her friends, they have a t.v. in there but have lost the remote control so unable to get text/subtitles on it, I asked the matron if they would like our old t.v (has text/subtitles and a remote control) and she was thrilled to bits, their Electrician will check it over before using just to be on the safe side.
So can I suggest that you offer it to a Nursing home they might be very grateful.
