ESA & PIP appeal decisions

Options
I attended an appeal hearing for ESA today and thankfully won my case and was put back into the Support Group from the WRAG group; it was a tremendous relief especially after 8 ridiculous months of waiting. I was curious though; around 4 months ago I also applied for PIP (which I have had in the past) but this time was refused. I asked for a M/R and again it was turned down so last week requested an appeal. I appreciate the PIP descriptors are different from ESA - BUT - my own experience has been that the decision of one benefit then mirrors the decision of the other (before getting to an appeal) - this is borne out from countless other people on forums repeating the same story which is very interesting although obviously not conclusive. I wondered if therefore I should send details of this successful appeal decision to the DWP in regard to my forthcoming PIP appeal? Is there any harm? Will they perhaps in the meantime overturn the PIP decision before the appeal? I would be interested in others experiences and opinions... thanks

It's most likely too late to send it to DWP now as the MR decision remained the same on you've sent off your appeal form. It can't do any harm sending it to the Tribunal though.

Well done on winning the ESA Tribunal. Good luck with your PIP one.

    Congratulations on your tribunal win.
On what grounds were you placed into the Support Group?
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.

I know very little about PIP, but it will do no harm to send any documents you used for your ESA appeal, however it will probably add nothing to your PIP appeal.

You have won an ESA appeal, because you have shown the tribunal that you either fit one of the Support Group Descriptors or you have show your health would be at risk if you have to do Work Related Activity on ESA.

I would be very surprised if a Support Group Risk (Reg 35) decision would have any bearing on a PIP appeal.

So you are left to determine if the reason you won your ESA is also one of the reasons that you can be awarded PIP for.
