Barclays Packaged Bank Account - Success

Options
Hi,

A Big Thank You to this website and the Resolver application.
On 27 September I used the Resolver complaint form to complain to Barclays Bank that I had been mis-sold a Packaged Bank Account. I received a text that same day from Barclays to say they had received my complaint. On 26 October Barclays called me with a few simple questions. On 27 October they paid £3,446 into my account.
Fantastic Service and result:beer:

I have rbs packed claim in progress.
Did Barclays close your account since receiving refund.

  • They have not closed my account, but they remove the 'package'.
I am still waiting for a formal letter from them detailing how they arrived at their decision to uphold the claim.
    Good Luck with RBS!

So how many years were you paying for bank account features you didn't need?. It's even worse that they had to cancel the packaged account for you, you didn't even cancel it when you made the complaint?.

I hope you take this as a lesson to review your finances and see what else you are paying for that you don't need!.

    It’s been a while.
Though since got rbs decline with their reasons.
I’ve today posted my response to Omnibusdman via ppi claim company.
Spotted 1 error in stating I had used mobile insurance 2013 to claim a replacement phone at that time.
Whereas I called as I misplaced my mobile thinking it was lost, then found it in car -calling back to cancel the claim without paying any excess -claim was cancelled.
Maybe this will open up the opportunity to progress my pba refund claim -maybe not I’m no expert.
Though I’ll update mser’s in a few weeks with the result either way.
I have read other mser’s claims have since been rejected via Ombudsman hence I hold little hope.

Why are you using a PPI Claims Company, someone who uses the forum as much as you do should know better!.

Exactly -with a successful ppi claim since 2013-when I claimed via ombudsman myself without any fee’s.
This time I’ve been concentrating with work and health to attend -I replied to a few letters from claim company -if successful which I doubt the cost is 30% fees.
There are times when money is not as important.

But as you now know you still have to reply to letters and send them to the claims company. So your doing the exact same amount of work and spending the same amount of time doing it. All that's different is that your sending the letters to the claims company instead of direct to the bank and paying for the privileged.

Barclays is a very good bank
Nah. I think they should be bought by Lloyds, asset stripped and sold to Provident.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.
