NCP Parking fine

Hello,
To start, i have read the newbies sticky and got a small understanding but i am still majorly confused so i have created my own thread.
So to start, i have recieved 3 letters from NCP all on the same day regarding me parking in an ANPR car park for 2 hours 7 minutes and 17 seconds. Now never using this car park before i did not understand the system, so i typed my reg in and paid the ammount shown on screen £1 and went on my way.
They now want me to pay £100 for 2 hours parking.. the thing was empty! hardly lost that in business.. can anyone offer me any simpley explained advice?

There’s a ready-made appeal for BPA operators (in blue text) in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #1. If you’ve missed that in the sticky, I’m afraid you’re going to struggle to deal with this. No one can replace the work you need to do to get rid of this, your problem.
So I’ll just start you off, but then you need to get back to the sticky and learn the game you’ve been dragged into.
Send that appeal (simply copy and paste, no changes) off to NCP within 28 days of the date of issue of the letter you have received. Do it exactly (I can’t emphasise that enough) as the instructions given by NCP for submitting your initial appeal (apart from, if they ask for it, the name and address of the driver - you are dealing with this as the keeper, so if they want the keeper’s name and address, you give it, if they want the driver’s details don’t give them).
Within 35 days it will be rejected and you should receive a POPLA code. Then you’ll need to read (fully and properly this time) the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #3 which tells you how to win at POPLA.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
