Damaged Ceramic Hob to claim or not?

Hi There,
I managed to knock my knife block onto my Ceramic hob and crack it. I know that I am covered under my home insurance but I have £100 excess. So my question is whether it is worth while? It is a free standing cooker.
Does anyone know if they would send someone out to replace the hob? Or would they replace the whole cooker?
The cooker is 2 1/2 years old.
Thanks in advance.

They will do whatever is most cost effective to them.0

Broke my 60cm hob, cost £200 to replace Insurance only went up by £10 at next renewal.0

If it's a freestanding cooker, repairing it would rely on the product still being manufactured to get an exact replacement hob. As this is unlikely after 2 and a half years, replacement is the more likely option.
Is it a range-cooker style unit, or a basic free-standing cooker? If the former, it may just be worth doing; if the latter I'd have thought you're paying £350 or so, ergo £250 gain net of the excess, which IMO wouldn't outweigh the renewal increase in premiums.0
