What's the most economical People Carrier / SUV / 7 seater for around 2k

You're going to need to expand on that if you want any meaningful suggestions.
Annual mileage, passengers only or luggage as well, 4wd or 2wd?0 -
I'd say about 15k miles a year.
2WD not need for off roading.
Passengers between 5-7 the odd holiday which would also mean luggage, that said my partner also has a car which can accommodate that. Picassios, Zafaria, Megannes that sort of thing?0 -
Ok. With that mileage I would go for a diesel. If you need 7 seats that limits your choice somewhat but bear in mind a 7 seater will have very little boot space so if you're going away your luggage won't fit.
With your budget I would see what's available acceptably close to you and buy on condition rather than getting set on on particular model.0 -

What would recommend in the lower car tax bracket?0

Exactly. MPV's are fairly popular, so you're going to have fairly grim options at the £2k end of the market. I'd be looking purely for the one in best condition and ignoring tax/fuel/model/spec.
Decide if you need a 5 or a 7 seater first. 5 seats = go for an estate. 7 seats go for an MPV.
What have you got now? Are you better just getting a roof box for the extra luggage?0 -

I did have a Vauxhall Insignia which I had to scrap a week ago. I purchased a 2002 Honda CRV for £1000 as a quick replacement (see my thread also in this forum) other than the fact the steering shudders a little when turning its a really nice car. My issues being I'm getting about 20MPG which compared to my Vauxhall Insignia is crippling.0

Has this thread been amended? I thought you were asking about an SUV? Or have I just not had enough coffee?0
-
Sorry yes I did amend this thread. Not enough coffee for me this morning. MPV not SUV0
