Condensation help.

Hello,

So I recently moved into a new build flat which has patio doors leading to a balcony. I have noticed condensation on the door handles on the Inside. At first I thought it might be where the doors were left open but it's happening even without opening the doors for days. It seems to only be around the keyhole? All the seals around the door looks good. Any suggestions?

Regards

Cold often tracks across the metal cylinder and provides a spot for condensation. I wouldn't worry too much!
  • How much condensation is considered normal on the Inside of doors? I noticed there was a little bit around 2 of the rubber seals. Being a new build I wanna keep an eye on it for snagging reasons.

It really depends on the humidity levels inside the house; I would expect a moderate amount, especially as the temperature has suddenly dropped.

Yep. Probably the worst time of year for it unless you've got a more general damp problem. This morning I had a bit around the bottoms of some windows for first time this season. If you quickly cool a house full of damp autumn air and press it again a winter cold window you're going to get some condensation. It'll go away completely in my house as the temperatures drop a bit more.

EDIT to add: Try to avoid putting moisture into the air in your home as much as possible. Cover pots and pans when cooking, avoid drying clothes inside if you can, open the bathroom window and close the door after showering etc etc. This stuff can make sooooo much difference.
