Will a bank allow my sons wages to be paid into my account.

This is the first time I am posting on this forum as a concerned Dad.
My son recently made a massive error of judgement and will now pay the consequences for the next 6 years. He recently allowed someone to use his bank account who carried out fraud.
My son is 19 suffers from ADHD that sometimes makes him make some stupid decisions. The up shot is he has a cifas registered against him. For the next 6 years he will not be able to open a bank account which is disastorous.
I know he can not get a bank account or even a pre paid account from reading all the forums, what I do not know will a bank allow wages from a family member paid into a parents account.
From reading forums I understand it can be paid anywhere but how do banks feel about this it is very unclear.
As a Dad I am concerned and as I understand the implications for the next 6 years and hopefully will get help, 100% understand what he did was wrong but we still need to move forward. Also if anybody has been in this situation any advice will be good.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Surely it's more a question of whether the employer will allow it?
He'd have to ask them.0 -
His employer won't know if he provides them with your details. Unless he tells them.
Could he get a building society savings account which has an ATM card?0 -
As an employer we have in the past paid wages into an account that isnt in the employees name ,it isnt a problem .we get the employee to put this request in writing ,plus they have to update their personal details with us anyway and sign it off .....this is to protect us. Tbh im not sure banks even check the payees name on bacs transfers anyway , so he could just give a channge of detailsVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

My husbands wages are paid into my account, his idea I hasten to add, he's rubbish with money0

Neither the employer nor the bank will know if you don't tell them because payments are just made into a sort code and account number, banks don't use the account holder's name. The employer might ask for the name, but it will be ignored in the payment process, so the money will still reach your account even if the employer thinks they're paying your son.0

Thanks for the replies firstly.
When you have a cifas you can not get anything, it is worst than bankruptcy as at least you can get a basic bank account unless anyone can tell me otherwise.
Employers are happy to pay into an account of his choice but not sure if banks think it is ethical or will it infringe on banking regulations.0 -

Any chance of his being able to open the savings account with ATM card?
He could then have his wages paid into it.0 -
Even savings accounts are not permitted to be opened.0

The bank won't know and I can't think why they'd care if they did. If your son is happy with the arrangement then there's no problem.0

Once the money is paid into your account, it's your money, not your son's. Of course you're free to gift it back to him, but there may be some potential problems around inheritance tax, deprivation of assets, eligibility for means-tested benefits, etc.0
