    Morning all

The joy of a day off :D I was so tired yesterday after finishing a seven day shift and it was so busy, came home to a roast beef cooked by OH and a glass of red wine  had a hot bath and was in bed just after ten, I slept right through till eight this morning.

I have put a towel load on to wash and will have a good tidy and clean through the house this morning, then take little madam up to the park for a good run.

I intend to start my c*******s shopping today online, and get as much as I can I'm not keen on actually going to the shops so the more I can do online the better.

This afternoon will see me and Evie on the sofa watching a film with the fire going, its very likely that I will have a nap :D

Got to rummage in the freezer and find something for dinner, I will have to go and do a shop tomorrow as we need quite a few things.

    Have good days all xx

Hugs to Dumpling and family xx

Hope JackieO and family are ok xx
  • Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))) if you need one.

Dumpling, sorry to hear your two girls are having a hard timr again, have an extra ((((((((((hug)))))))))).

Its a bright morning, we have had a slight frost, the air is lovely and clean, I was outside the back door taking big lungs full!! Thankfully my geraniums are still going, I brought the two fuschias in yesterday to over winter.

I have the last Monday clean to do this morning, bed linen is in the machine, might have to finish it drying on the airer. My neighbour across the road has switched to my cleaner, she went to see her yesterday. I need to do a freezer audit and maybe a shop on Thursday, I need to check the milk situation and the toasting bread.

The lamb last night was yummy, will cut some more off for tonight with salad and jacket spud......I also made a rhubarb crumble which we will finish tonight as well.

Started making the fabric bowl, I think once I have made one it will be ok, I plan to make a cardboard template for the darts, that will make it quicker, I will not have to measure and mark them. Can just cut them out.

    Morning all

    Brrrrrr its chilly this morning

Work today after which I need to sort the old mattress disposal. ...saw one guy on the local area internet site who claimed to remove all household rubbish for a tenner ....contacted him and he wanted 50 quid as doubles are too hard to dispose of  I bet i would have seen it dumped locally too so that isn't happening. Ill start with a post on that site and then go to the council if no joy.

Loved loved loved the blue planet last night particularly loved the walruses mums and the fish bashing the clam to get it open :) amazing tv.

Had chilli last night which was lush ...tonight will be something simple from the store cupboard which is overflowing atm.

Right time to shift my butt.
    Have a good day all

Dumpling, I hope things improve this week.

Hester, it sounds as if you are settling into retirement ok.

Tru, is Mr Tru home yet? It sounds as if you had a lovely time last week.

Lainey, that's a good idea, I need one of those, he trouble is I start with good intentions and peter out.

I can't remember when I last posted but it's a few days ago - I've been ill again, I'm boring myself. I managed to hold it together while we had visitors last week but yesterday was pretty grim.

As a result today will be a lazy day, a little light vacuuming and som quiling being the sum of it.

DS and DW's move is coming ever closer. It will be lovely for them but I will miss them being so close, as opposed to 45 minutes away.

DD is struggling with anxiety at the moment, so I'm worried about her, I just want to make it all better (it must be just how you feel dumpling).

    Morning all

Cold and bright here. Got a load of whites in the macine, dishwasher is on. DD's washing machine has packed up mid wash this morning so DH has gone to sort out the crisis as she has got work training later and we are having DGS. As she lives in a flat he has taken plenty of towels in case a bail out is needed. She inherited the washing machine when she moved in .I bet she wishes she had bought a new one!

Hugs to all who need them especially Dumpling and LW. Thinking of you family Jackie O. Energy vibes to Holly Harvey.

Well have a good day folks,

    from chilly Blackpool!

Crisp dry day today so the WM is on with coloureds, got enough pairs of opaque tights to add to DH's t-shirts to do a black wash after, then whites. I have a couple of hand-wash bits to put through on gentle later too.

I have a couple of things to post that have sold on fleabay and a prescription and a parcel to collect from our mini Boots chemists down the road (whenever I want anything from Boots, I order it online for free delivery there to save having to go into town and risk being out of stock :))

The cat is obviously feeling cold as she keeps wanting to curl up on my knee as I'm sat on here, but she has just trotted downstairs to find DH and will most likely sit on him ;)

No idea what is for tea tonight, so will go & forage in the freezer soon, then I need to strip the spare beds and change our bedding when I come back from the PO. Would also like to drag dyson around and sort / tidy my little study which is becoming overrun with stuff that needs to live elsewhere or leave the house :o

Right, I can hear that DH has just put the kettle on so will go & have a brew before going out. Hope everyone has a good day.

After making a huge lunch for six of us yesterday I had the dishwasher on twice and still have some pots and pans to wash.

Looks as if family will be round this Sunday too so might make something like a huge steak and mushroom pie with veg and roast potatoes that will use fewer pots and pans and can be started on the day before.

Need to get the bus to Leeds around one for an eye test so will microwave the home made lasagne in the fridge for lunch and unload the dishwasher before I go.

Seemed to do nothing but wash clothes, towels and bedding for days now and still have some to do but that can wait till tonight.

Hugs to all especially jackieO, silver-oldie, csarina.

    Hi all
The weather here is lovely and we didn't have the forecasted cold night or heavy frost, so we were doing the hokey pokey with the thicker duvet all night because we were too hot !
Anyway this morning we took DGD birthday presents down for her to open. She had already had lots and lots from family and friends. She's a lucky girl ! We came away with some birthday cake too, chocolate caterpillar cake, my fav :T.
After that I called in at Morries for bread and milk and some party food ( crisps and soft drinks mainly ). Also bought two presents in their 2 for £8, to put away as it's DD's birthday in Dec.
Had a R Mail parcel delivery while we were out but luckily it was left in our safe place as no signature was needed . There are two more presents in there for DGD for Christmas, so that's her done. Just have to concentrate on DGS starting next week as he only has one present at the moment and I don't suppose he'll be very happy with that :rotfl:.
This afternoon I am going to do some baking ready for tomorrows party, as I need to make some lactose free "day of the dead cakes" for DD and I have found some L.Free orange frosting to go on the top. Most of the food is already Lactose free but not the cake so I shall make my own. I'll probably start the sausage rolls and marinade the " devils fingers" (sausages) and put them in the fridge till tomorrow. I have taken the " baby's legs " (chicken drumsticks) out of the freezer to defrost already. :D
Easy tea today, some left over potatoes to be fried with some sausages plus a fried egg for me.
So I'd better get up off my backside, because these cakes won't make themselves.

I hope you feel better soon.
Hugs to those who need or want one, or more.

  • Hello all,
    Hope everyone is well.
Didn't have to take Small out today as my niece came over & looked after him. My sister is looking after Small tomorrow when my son has an appointment.
Made cottage pie for tea. I seemed to use every kitchen pan & utensil going.
Really trying to keep an eye on my spending. I'm doing well so far.
Was going to make chocolate crispie cakes today but the chocolate seized up. I'm sure the chocolate is worse quality nowadays as I used to make these all the time as a child as never had this problem. Have had this happen a few times recently.

The husband is home so off to do him dinner.

    Best wishes all
