The Money Programme
Buy to Debt? The buy-to-let boom has transformed the property market. But with confidence shaken by the Northern Rock crisis and rising interest rates, is the boom finally over?

Yet another one! More and more programmes talking about falling house prices.
Prices used to keep on rising after the publicity given by programmes about rising house prices. Now they're falling for the same reason, and the loss of confidence in the market.
Oh isn't the panic starting to spread now................

One to watch tonight for sure. Every day another headline about falling prices. Fast becoming a self-fufilling prophecy, just as rising prices once were.0 -
I don't know about you guys, but personally, my Friday nights are for drinks with friends and relaxing, rather than fretting about house prices!Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0

I'll crack out the champagne and get watching! :rotfl:0 -
Clicked the link and looked ... seems to be Snooker and Grand Prix on at 7pm
Edit: aahhhh, link took me to next Friday's ... I see it now. I'll watch it.
Edit2: oooh, might not be on my BBC2, have to suck it and see... no idea how it works but I think I get bbc2wales. And it doesn't appear to be on there. Have to see when it comes to it. I don't understand TV really yet.0 -
I expect the programme to focus on flats (aka apartments) (aka luxury apartments).
People need to remember that homeowners will be hit harder than BTLers by any downturn in the housing market. I doubt that'll be mentioned tonight.
GGThere are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0 -

why, unless they work for the property sector in some ways prices going down is good news for most people.
you are right though, it was full of pillocks who bought new builds in manchester then complaining there were too many hoses getting built to let them make a profit.
the really nasty aspect is the new way they were punting to make money by getting people before they get repo'ed and buying it below value (up to 1/2 price) then offering to rent back.0 -
It was the vultures who leaflet people who are in danger of being repossessed that really made me mad. Offering these people half the market value of their houses and then renting it back to them. Taking advantage of other peoples misfortunes. Scum.0

I had to google humax to find out what it was... never heard the word before. Then I closed google as I could see from the results I'd never understand it.0
