I am so sorry you have had such a tough time and I hope you have some support from family and friends.
You don't need me to tell you that your current financial situation is unmanageable and you might just scape the £57.00 you need to balance your SOA by tinkering with your utilities, but you need something a bit more drastic in the long term. Your SOA above only allows you £150 to live on a month ...food, nappies clothing basically everything and that just isn't sustainable.
So I think you need to think about the following options:
1. Get legal advice to secure the financial future for you and your child.
2. Cancel £90 TV/internet package - explain the change in your circumstances, they should be sympathetic.
3. Explore help with childcare - this needs to be a priority. Do you have any family and friends that could help ? Would your Dr give you a sick note because of the stressful situation in the meantime until you can get sorted. This would give you some breathing space.
4. The car loan needs to go - could you sell the car and buy something cheaper out right ? Would you qualify for another 0% credit card to pay the car loan off ?
5. Get a lodger as others have suggested
6. Sell the house and buy something cheaper
7. Cancel Union - approach Union to see if they have access to charitable fund to help you through this tough time.
All this is tough stuff I know but you need a plan that is sustainable.
The very best of luck x0 -
If you voluntarily move to a water meter you have the chance to move back to rateable value charges within a 12 month period. Unless you are in the South West the chances are you will save half of what you are paying now. A water meter automatically gives readings to the provider so no question of building up debt."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0

Our house is a 4 bed detached & our buildings & contents insurance is only £22 per month. I pay annually but save that monthly amount ready for next years renewal.
Also gas & electric, we are a family of 4 and pay £65 per month in total.0 -

It was excessive anyway it turns out! Managed to cut it down by 3/4 by reviewing how much contents cover I needed. Turns out I had loads LOL
