Hi all

I have read the newbies thread re parking tickets but am hoping for your advice.

Back in April the driver of my vehicle attended an event at the Park Regis hotel. The driver has attended events at the hotel before and knows that the hotel provides complimentary parking, providing the driver supplies their car registration details at the reception desk. So the driver did just that, entering the car details at the end of their stay and handing the tablet back to the reception staff to complete the logged registration. The driver didn’t receive any proof that they had logged the car, however the company that ran the event at the hotel did register the driver's attendance, so could prove the driver was there.

Shortly after the event, I received a parking charge notice though the post. I hadn’t done anything with it, and as usual have received several letters threatening court action. At the end of last week I did email the new registered manager, also Ccing the generic hotel email, putting in a complaint and requesting the charge get cancelled, however have had no response.

I am aware that it’s now nearly November, so I’m not sure what the best thing to do is to get the case closed.

What would you suggest?

Sorry I forgot to say, the parking charge was from Smart Parking, who the hotel use for their car park.

Visit the hotel, or that is not possible, phone them and ask them to respond to your email.
Ask them again to cancel the charge.

Otherwise, sit and wait and see if within the next six years they decide to start court action.

much too late for any appeal

remove any hint above of who was driving

THE DRIVER stayed at the hotel and THE DRIVER logged their VRM etc

your best current option is to pressure that manager into getting not so SMART to cancel it , asap

SMART have 6 years to issue an LBC or an MCOL

ideally this should have been appealed at the time and seen off at popla
