I have been to Ikea and picked 2 up - I think that they were £2.95 each this year. Inflation :eek: !0

We've had trouble with the IKEA ones in the past - you never know whether they are in millions of pieces! I'd check before I left the store whether the top layer was ok and cross fingers for the rest!
I prefer the supercook ones (Ithey may be the ones another poster was talking about at tesco - usually about £4.99) They are a much simpler design (albeit smaller) and seem to stand up better, plus they include the tube of icing and some sweeties to decorate
Here's one we did for my son's Birthday (he was having a proper ake for his party and I thought a gingerbread was a bit more fun to do together particularly as we were short of time having arrived back from hols the night before)

hi
i bought a lidl kit a few weeks ago, and have been researching how to decorate them online for a while now , so got a horrible feeling my gingerbread house project is turning into the sistine chapel now lol
well...as i cant cook, my little kit isnt very impressive so ive decided im gonna cheat and make extensions lol from ready to eat wholemeal or ginger biscuits, ryvita maybe and ive even seen some online made from decorated cardboard,
will post finished pic online when its done even if its a disaster lol
im unsure how to make the icing glue some recipes online say royal icing and water some say royal icing and egg
also for the life of me i cannot find those round crunchy hard candy american sweets with the red lines in them in the uk, nearly all the online houses have these on the front of the houses
and lastly where on earth do people get the figures from? my local cake/party shop only has a cake xmas tree ( looks like a babys bottle cleaning brush lol) or a mutant size plastic reindeer0 -
Caz not sure what the red sweets are that you are talking about but over here we have campinos, you can normally get them in supermarkets and also in woolies they are white with red inside them ... pic below. Hope that helps (they also do them with purple lines through and orange lines
)
