How long did you look for?

Just watched Locations and one of the clients had been house-hunting for two years, near Liverpool.
I can't imagine why it would take that long to find a house, unless you need twelve bedrooms and a moat, or want it to be miles from nowhere.
We took a few months of not looking very hard to find our bungalow.
How long did you take and what was your major criterion?

I've been looking for 5 years, and still am.
But with very particular requirements, and no urgency to move as my current home is pretty nice...0 -
Seems like another pointless thread.
Anyway; it depends on stock available on the market, market conditions and to be honest, if you're spending that much on a house of course you're going to be choosy. Depends whether it's for a few years or whether it's to see a family/couple through various phases of life.0 -
I looked in a pretty casual way for about 18 months. I wanted a fairly specific area and a private garden with afternoon and evening sun. Most properties in my price range have shared yards. In all that time I only viewed one house! I knew I was going to buy it as soon as I saw the rightmove listing.

Is there a context for that? If not it just seems rude. There's many a dafter thread on here.0 -

I can understand only viewing one house. What I am talking about is those who view dozens. Surely one would be right in two years?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Some of those on Location3 are very pickyIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Why? If they're not rght, they're not right.
I've looked at dozens.
I suppose I was thinking that if they fit your essential criteria, then out of dozens, one is sure to be right, although not perfect, perhaps.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Ditto, was going to post the same thing. I don't understand when people on here get arsey at others for inciting discussion on a discussion forum.Homeowner:j0 -
Looked through many on rightmove but only viewed one and bought it.
Harder to view douzens when you live 200 miles away from where you want to move to.0 -

I think the problem on location though was the young lady didn't really want to move out of her parents house and every house they looked at she was comparing it to her parents even though their budget was vastly different.
