Best stuff and cheapest place to buy loft insulation

What is the best/recommended loft insulation?

Where is the cheapest place to buy it from, I'm going to need quite a lot!

We don't qualify we already have cavity wall insulation and can't get the loft insulation.

B&Q currently have a "buy three for £14.50 each" offer on. Not sure how long the offer will last.

Current recommendation by the "experts" is 270mm thick layer in the loft.

Well we have the usual layer between the joists (mostly, needs a bit more in places), so looks like I should get some 200mm thick stuff to do it once and for all?

Is it all pretty much the same?

I don't think there is much difference between the rockwool or fibreglass from the major manufacturers that the likes of B&Q & Wickes sell. They have pretty much the same thermal rating, so it really boils down to pack size & coverage.
