Just to add to this - If the property hasn't been registered, then the assent will trigger a compulsory first registration. If that is the case, then you'll need to track down the deeds and complete an FR1 form.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Just to add the rules on interest in possession changed in 2006, DOV should make one an qualifying immediate post death which eliminates your CGT exposure.0
