Cancelling in store order after arranging delivery

I ordered some shower panels in a big diy store and have arranged delivery with the company that supplies them. Now I have just woken up in the night realising that they will not fit into the shower room. They would fit on the wall but there is no way to get them into the room to fit them:mad: I am annoyed with myself for not realising this sooner.
So the question is can I cancel my order?

What happened when you phoned up the shop and asked them?0

What happened when you phoned up the shop and asked them?
I'm assuming the shop wasn't open at 5am...
(And thus want to know what they can do BEFORE phoning)
Why will they not fit in?
Could you exchange them for something else?
As you ordered in store you have no cancellation rights, so are relying on the goodwill of the store.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Thanks Pinkshoes
Although that is not what I wanted to hear it is what I thought
I am waiting for the store to phone me back.
These are ceiling height panels and the ceiling height is the largest dimension in the room.0 -
What's the width of them?0

Are you sure they won't fit through the door? I'd have thought all the panels' dimensions would have to be bigger than the door not to fit in(?).0

As Pinkshoes says, no actual rights in law to cancel if bought in store.
However, if it's a big chain store then you will probably find they have a cancellation / returns policy. I would be inclined to look on the company's website for a copy - although obviously ensure that it relates to items ordered in store and not online. Failing this, I would phone the company's head office first thing in the morning and ask what their cancellation / returns policy is.
The reason I suggest this is that some local store staff / managers aren't as clued up as they should be. In other words, be armed with the facts before you go back to your local store and try and cancel your order.0 -
I have fitted full height shower panels in tiny en-suites (2.4x1.2). It must have a proper door unless your a Hobbit so where there is a will there is a way.

Get a joiner to take a look, I bet he says no problem.0 -
It is a tiny shower room 1.4m x 1.8m. I just can't see how we can get them upright inside the room. Doorway is 610mm0

Got refund today
. A little slow due to communication between departments but very happy as the problem was my fault - lesson learnt
