I've run my performance car mainly on Tesco Momentum for 9 years and had no problems. Economy is about 5% better than with their standard petrol, and the car runs much smoother at low revs. I've tried the other "performance" fuels over the years and never really noticed any difference to Tesco.
I suppose it all depends on the car.
I personally wont use supermarket fuel again, unless it's an emergency (it was Asda standard stuff i was using for the record). Others will have had no problem.
My car ran crap off Texaco juice. Could've been a bad batch maybe.
It runs fine off of BP & Shell and runs best off of Shell V-Power but i no longer use that, i just use Shell standard stuff. I put a tank of V-Power in every 6 months since it's supposed to have cleaning properties in it. I was also recommended this by a mechanic i took my car to (though he didn't specify which premium fuel to be fair).
Like most things in life, we all have our own experiences.0 -
1.2 fiesta and you’ve done a thread about higher octane fuel. I thought you’d bought some V6 turbo or something.0

Yeah we seem to be getting a few of them. Personally I don't know why people bother responding if they can't be bothered to help in some way.
We seem to get quite a few pointless threads (not referring to the OP) asking inane questions, but there we are.
For general questions like this, a search would have yielded results. This subject has been done to death, and always leads to long monotonous debates.0 -
I haven't owned a petrol car for ~ 10 years, so the matter of petrol types hasn't really been on mind.0

What have you been running your diesel(s?) on and what were your thoughts on the different types of diesel?0 -
There was only one diesel nozzle, so that's what I used.0

It will depend on the car - the age of it, if there are any mods, any wear in the engine, etc. All of those could impact how sensitive it is to fuel quality.
With newer cars it tends not to matter so much as the car will electronically adjust.0 -
Supermarket fuel, branded fuel, makes no difference to my MX5. Even when I went to France on a 2000 mile jolly to go see a bridge and used various fuels over there from BP to whatever Supermarket stuff was available the MPG never changed from the 37MPG I normally get tank in, tank out and the car just drove the same. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
