Is this coke or coal?

Afternoon,
Would anyone be able to tell me if this is coke or coal please? I've just bagged up 12 bags worth in the cellar from a previous owner. It looks to have been there for 30 years or so based on some of the newspapers I found amongst it.

Thanks

Looks like coke rather then coal. How big is the lump, its not clear from the pic?0

Looks like coke to me; coal tends to have sharper edges and be much shinier.
A pile of it, with some size reference, can help.
But my money's on coke. We had coke heating until I was aged mid-30s, so grew up with it being a daily item.... and it looked like that!0 -
Sell it on ebay or gumtree if you don't need it.0

Looks like Coalite which is darker, more friable and easier to light than coke. Sort of halfway between coal and coke. It was an authorised smokeless fuel and could be used in open fires instead of coal. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalite
for all the details.0
