Replacing a towel radiator

Do towel radiators come in common sizes? I'm in the process of buying a new house and the builder will install a standard white towel radiator (sorry for the poor image). I'm thinking about possibly paying the builder extra to install a chrome radiator or alternatively, I could buy my own radiator after completion and get a local plumber to install it but I don't want to do any major plumbing work. How much should I expect to pay a plumber to replace it?

Measure the width then look online. You will probably find the chrome version of the make you already have.

.....and if you get one the right size you won’t need a plumber, it’s a simple diy job

That's what I'm thinking I could do afterwards. Since it's a new build home, I won't be able to get the measurement i.e. the cost for the chrome version until after completion and so I don't know whether it's worth paying the builder to just install a chrome one in the first place.

Depends on the extra cost the builder wants. You can look up the cost of a chrome one within a few £s even if you don't know the exact size.
