Haha, now that could have been true - didn't think of that.
However, I've just ran WinVer and it shows 1709 (i.e. September 2017) which I presume is the latest version.0 -
This is a fairly slow laptop, but it's running the latest W10 build faultlessly. I'm pretty sure that it must be the same for nearly everyone. Probably, most don't even know they've been updated. I guess the people having problems very understandably complain, and everybody else just carries on.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Yes, but not yet. It's an incredible safety blanket being thrown across the internet. Ransomware is the most pernicious type of virus malware - it'll steal all your documents and photographs and hold them to ransom for ~£500. It's even infected an NHS Trust site and caused havoc. It tends to spread online, and infection methods can include drive-by downloads (although they're of limited effectiveness).
The most vulnerable people are generally the less paranoid users, so as a casual surfer this will be a huge boost to you that you'll hopefully never realise. In the short term, carry on as before, and likely it'll be turned on by default in a future update once the more determined techie types give it a bit of exercise in the wild.0 -

Thank you again, but I'm sorry if I seem obtuse but I don't really understand the above. What will be a huge boost that (hopefully) I'll never realise and what will be turned on by default?0 -

Hiya, not really a "boost" in any sense, more protection. I guess an analogy would be driving - your upgraded car doesn't go any faster but it has airbags for in case you have a prang

As above, I seem to be having problems since the updates were installed.
As a result I'm thinking of restoring my computer prior to those updates.
Just seemed like such a big install, though. So, If I do do it, are there any potential pitfalls involved?
Thank you.0 -
The solution at the end of that threat was to uninstall then reinstall Kaspersky.
i just won't bother with the re-install.0
